Viewer Subscriptions let you offer recurring paid access to your channel through Strimm apps. Viewers pay a monthly or annual fee through the app store of the platform they use, and get ongoing access to your content.
Supported platforms
Paid viewer subscriptions are supported on:
- iOS and Android (Mobile)
- Roku
- Fire TV
- Apple TV
- Android TV
Each platform uses its own app store payment system (Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Roku Channel Store). Revenue flows through those stores — each store takes a percentage fee before payouts.
Per-platform setup guides
Subscription setup differs by platform because each app store has its own requirements. Follow the guide for each platform where you want to offer subscriptions:
- Setting Up Paid Subscriptions for Your Mobile App
- Setting Up Paid Subscriptions for Your Fire TV App
- Setting Up Paid Subscriptions for Your Roku App
- Setting Up Paid Subscriptions for Your Apple TV App
- Setting Up Paid Subscriptions for Your Android TV App
Free mode
If subscriptions are enabled but a viewer hasn't subscribed, they may see a limited view of your content depending on your channel's access settings. Configure free vs. paid access rules in your channel settings.
Viewer restore and cancellation
- Viewers who reinstall the app or switch devices can restore their subscription using the Restore Purchases option in the app.
- Cancellations are handled by the app store — viewers cancel through their App Store / Google Play / Amazon account, not through Strimm.
Important note
Strimm provides the infrastructure for in-app subscriptions. Pricing, store fees, and subscriber growth depend on your content and your audience. Strimm does not guarantee subscriber acquisition or revenue.
