Getting Started 4
Strimm is a cloud platform for creating, scheduling, distributing, and monetizing Live TV and Video-on-Demand networks. You manage your channels from a web-based Production Studio and can deliver them through your website and branded apps.
No traditional broadcast studio is required. Strimm is cloud-based and managed through your browser. Assisted channel creation, Instant Schedule, Autopilot, and AI tools can help even nontechnical users build and operate a professional channel.
A basic channel can be created in minutes. Assisted Creation can create a channel, add initial content, and build a starting schedule automatically. More complex branded-app launches depend on platform setup and app-store approval.
This page covers common sales and product questions. For step-by-step setup instructions, app configuration, and integration details, visit the Knowledge Base.
Plans, Billing & Trial 5
Every signup begins with Strimm's Free Plan. Create channels with content from public video sources to broadcast them on Strimm.com only. Paid-plan options, monetization, Instant Scheduling, and Autopilot are not included. Good for personal use or exploring Strimm before upgrading for business use.
The 14-day trial begins when your selected plan is activated and ends 14 calendar days later. It includes access to the Strimm dashboard and the Web-plan capabilities included with your subscription. Payment information is required, and subscription billing begins after the trial unless canceled. Custom app configuration requires a separate App Setup order.
It covers standard branding configuration, required asset and account checks, connection to the selected network, packaging and the standard initial store-submission process for one individual app. Store developer fees, custom features, redesigns and resubmissions caused by changed customer requirements are separate.
The setup fee is separate from the free trial and becomes non-refundable once Strimm begins manual configuration or submission work. The customer must approve this condition in a separate order before work starts.
Yes. You can change plans or add apps as your distribution needs grow. A completed App Setup form is required for every app because each platform has separate technical, account and branding requirements. Activating a new plan does not automatically cancel an existing subscription. If you no longer need the previous plan, contact Strimm to coordinate its cancellation and avoid overlapping charges.
Programming & Video Sources 5
Yes. Strimm can combine a scheduled 24/7 broadcast with a Video-on-Demand library, allowing viewers to watch the live schedule or choose individual VOD titles.
Yes. Build precise schedules manually or use Instant Schedule, Autopilot, and Loop Daily to keep your programming running around the clock.
Autopilot creates and maintains an ongoing schedule from the programming you provide, helping keep a channel active without continuous manual scheduling.
Strimm uses a link-based video workflow. Instead of uploading large video files to Strimm, you connect supported video sources or MP4 and HLS links from your video CDN. This keeps storage and bandwidth outside your Strimm plan, so Strimm does not add separate storage or bandwidth charges. Your video provider may charge separately.
A content delivery network (CDN) hosts and delivers media through direct, app-compatible links. Examples include Bunny.net, DynTube, Cloudflare Stream, or a properly configured AWS video-delivery workflow. Google Drive and Dropbox are not video CDNs and cannot be used as reliable Strimm media-source URLs. Direct MP4 and HLS (.m3u8) links from a properly configured video CDN provide the most consistent playback across the Strimm web player and supported apps.
Websites, Branding & Distribution 5
Yes. The Web plan supports embedding the Strimm player on multiple websites, or publishing individual channels on different approved domains.
Yes. White-label branding, custom logos, and player controls are available on eligible paid destinations, including your website and branded apps. Channels viewed on Strimm.com use the standard Strimm-branded viewing experience regardless of plan.
Your network can run on your own website and, depending on your plan, through branded iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and Google TV apps.
Yes. Every Strimm account—including paid accounts—can make its channels available on Strimm.com at no additional charge. This optional distribution benefit helps you share your programming with viewers around the world. Channels viewed on Strimm.com use the Strimm-branded viewing experience. Paid-plan presentation settings, including white-label branding and custom website/player settings, do not apply on Strimm.com, and the Strimm logo remains visible. Paid customers may choose not to distribute their channels on Strimm.com.
Yes. Distribution on Strimm.com is optional. Paid customers may choose not to distribute their channels there and keep distribution limited to their own website and apps.
Mobile & TV Apps 6
Depending on your plan or app add-ons, Strimm can deliver branded apps for iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV / Google TV.
Yes. Branded apps are submitted through developer accounts that you own, registered as organization accounts rather than individual accounts. Depending on the platform and your account's verification status, a D-U-N-S Number may be required as part of that organization enrollment. Any platform membership or account fees charged by Apple, Google, Amazon or Roku are paid directly to those platforms.
Usually, yes, for the organization accounts used in Strimm app launches. A D-U-N-S number is a free nine-digit business identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet. Apple requires it for organization enrollment, and Google Play requires it for organization developer accounts.
In the current Strimm Apple TV app, use direct video-streaming CDN sources in supported .mp4 or .m3u8 format. Standard YouTube and Dailymotion page links are not supported. Vimeo-source playback is also not supported in the Strimm Apple TV app, due to Apple TV platform and source-compatibility rules. We recommend direct MP4 or HLS links from a properly configured video CDN.
The current Strimm Roku app does not support ordinary YouTube or Dailymotion page links, due to Roku platform and source-compatibility rules. For reliable Roku distribution, use CDN-hosted .mp4 or .m3u8 media that you control.
Yes, the current Strimm apps for these Android-based TV environments can support YouTube through the approved embedded-player integration. For the complete, current compatibility summary across every supported platform, see the App Compatibility Guide.
Monetization 5
Strimm supports multiple monetization models, including VAST advertising, viewer subscriptions, pay-per-view, and channel subleasing. You can combine multiple approaches based on your business model.
VAST is a standard video-ad format supported by most ad servers and ad networks. Strimm lets you run VAST pre-roll and mid-roll advertising across your streaming experience so you can monetize with your own ad relationships.
Strimm provides the VAST advertising tools needed to run commercials on your channels — it does not supply the ads themselves. Actual ad campaigns and inventory come from your own connected advertising provider or ad network. Strimm does not guarantee automatic ad inventory or any specific advertising revenue.
You can offer recurring paid access to your channels or library on a monthly or annual basis, on the web and on eligible branded apps.
Pay-Per-View lets you rent individual VOD titles or offer one-time paid access to premium programming, separate from any subscription.
Channel Subleasing 3
Channel Subleasing lets an account owner create web channels for clients, grant controlled access to assigned channels, and set its own client pricing while retaining account-level oversight.
Channel Subleasing Pro allows you to create and manage up to 100 subleased client channels. You can give individual clients permission to manage their own channels while you resell access to the channel and its Web-plan capabilities. Channel Subleasing Pro is designed for web broadcasting. TV and mobile apps are not included.
Yes. Channel Subleasing can provide controlled access to other Strimm users with permissions for areas such as content, schedules, analytics, channel settings, HLS, and advertising.
Support 2
Yes. Advanced users can connect Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok through Strimm's MCP server and use their preferred AI assistant to work with channels, videos, schedules, VAST settings, HLS links, apps, and analytics.
Strimm does not require raw video uploads or video storage on Strimm servers. Your content remains with your CDN or supported source. Any fees charged by your CDN or third-party content provider remain separate.
