When you click Create Channel in the studio sidebar, Strimm offers two paths: a quick guided setup or a full manual form.
Assisted Creation (Recommended)
The fastest way to launch a channel. Strimm walks you through a short wizard and handles the heavy lifting for you.
- Name your channel and pick a category.
- Import videos automatically. Strimm asks whether you'd like it to automatically import 50 YouTube videos to get your channel started. If you say yes, it searches YouTube on your behalf using your search phrases.
- Enter 2 search phrases that describe the videos you'd like Strimm to find on YouTube (for example: nature documentaries and wildlife africa).
- Add a channel logo or use the default one to finish setup.
Once you complete the wizard your channel is created, videos are imported into your library, and Strimm generates a schedule so your channel goes on air immediately. You can fine-tune settings, add more videos, and adjust the schedule at any time in the Production Studio.
Manual Creation
Opens the full channel creation form with every setting available from the start:
- Channel image, name, category, and description
- Privacy settings (public or password-protected)
- Custom domain and embed options
- Language and timezone
Manual creation gives you complete control over every detail before your channel goes live. Choose this path if you have specific settings you want to configure up front.
Which should I choose?
Use Assisted Creation to get a channel on air in minutes. Use Manual Creation if you want full control of every setting before launch. You can always adjust anything afterward — Assisted Creation is just a faster starting point, not a limitation.
