To charge viewers for subscriptions or pay-per-view (PPV) on the web, you need to connect a payment processor to your Strimm account. Strimm supports Stripe and PayPal. Once connected, all subscription and PPV payments from web viewers go directly to your account.
Supported payment processors
- Stripe — recommended for most creators. Supports cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more. Available in 46+ countries.
- PayPal — widely recognized and trusted by viewers globally.
You can connect one or both. Viewers will see the available payment options at checkout.
How to connect Stripe
- Go to My Studio → Payment Integration.
- Under the Stripe section, click Connect with Stripe.
- You'll be redirected to Stripe to sign in or create a Stripe account.
- Complete the Stripe onboarding (business details, bank account). This is done directly with Stripe — Strimm never stores your banking information.
- Once connected, you'll see your Stripe account status as Active on the Payment Integration page.
How to connect PayPal
- Go to My Studio → Payment Integration.
- Under the PayPal section, click Connect with PayPal.
- Sign in to your PayPal Business account (a Business account is required — personal accounts are not supported).
- Grant Strimm the requested permissions and confirm the connection.
- Your PayPal account will show as Connected once complete.
Setting up subscriptions and PPV pricing
After connecting a payment processor, you can set your pricing:
- Subscriptions — go to My Studio → Viewer Subscriptions to set monthly/annual prices and control which channels require a subscription.
- Pay-Per-View — go to My Studio → Pay-Per-View to set a price for individual VOD titles. Viewers pay once to unlock a title for a set period (e.g. 48 hours).
Payouts
Revenue goes directly to your connected Stripe or PayPal account. Strimm does not take a cut of web subscription or PPV revenue — your payment processor's standard transaction fees apply.
Note: For in-app purchases on mobile and TV apps (iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, etc.), payments are handled by the respective app stores (Apple, Google, Amazon), not by Stripe or PayPal.
